King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands visited the Center for Man and Aviation (CML) and AEOLUS in Soesterberg on 22 September 2016. The theme of the King's work visit was “Human Performance in aerospace; innovation through cooperation”.
At CML, the King was informed about the innovation platform AEOLUS. Following the briefing he visited TNO including a demonstration of the desorientation simulator DESDEMONA. The visit was concluded in the Collaborative Training Centre (CTC), a building with various cockpit simulators, that is linked with DESDEMONA in one virtual world. Through a brief demonstration the capabilities for research and training were shown.
